A project of particular intensity is that for the Zanotta chapel near Como (1984-86), for which Del Ponte chose the absolute, essential shape of the cube, interpreted as a square mirroring the sky. One of the sides is a fused leadlight glass wall, encouraging natural light to illuminate the sleep of death. Inside, the walls in Belgian pink marble have a maternal color, and the transparency of human skin.
